Dr. JIM GARZA - Vein Specialist / Cardio-Vascular Surgeon


Jim S. Garza, M. D., completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After graduation from medical school, he was accepted into and completed a highly competitive surgical residency first in general surgery, and then in Chest and Heart surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine affiliated hospitals.

Since 1981, he has treated thousands of patients with vein disorders. His training includes the state-of-the-art treatments of varicose veins using the most advanced lasers (CoolTouch®) and radio-frequency (VUNS Closure®) instruments. He also uses the latest recommended solutions and skin lasers for spider veins. Vein strippings are a thing of the past.

Dr. Garza is also a member of the American College of Phlebology.

Board certification: The American Board of General Surgery certified Dr. Garza in 1981. The American Board of Thoracic Surgery certified him in 1984 and he was re-certified in Thoracic surgery in 1998. His practice is focused on advanced endoscopic thoracic surgery and heart surgery.

We are available to take calls at this number during normal business hours, and our telephone is answered 24 hours a day for your convenience. If you need to call us outside our normal business hours, please leave a message and your complete telephone number, including area code and country code, if applicable, with the operator.


NEW PATIENTS

We welcome new patients for consultations or surgical treatment. You may contact us directly or through a referring physician. Please forward copies of your medical records from other physicians before your first appointment, which will be set for the earliest time and date possible.

A new patient representative will contact you after your appointment has been scheduled. Please allow 30 minutes of your initial appointment to complete a medical history form. On your first appointment, please bring your medical records, a list of all medicines you are presently taking and your health insurance card(s). Please bring your insurance card(s) on each following appointment.

CANCELLATIONS

If you cannot keep a scheduled appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. If you must cancel your appointment due to last-minute unforeseen circumstances, please let us know immediately.

TELEPHONE CALLS AND EMERGENCIES

Your call will be directed to the appropriate person during our normal office hours. Please be prepared to indicate which person or department you wish to speak with and the nature of your call so that it will be properly directed.

If your call is prompted by pain or acute discomfort, or your situation warrants an immediate response, please give the operator specific details so we can respond accordingly.

If your call is not an emergency, the office may take a message. When leaving a message, please spell your name and give your phone number, including area code and country code, as applicable.

AFTER HOURS, WEEKENDS, AND HOLIDAYS

A physician is on call even when our office is closed. However, we request that you make your calls for appointments or other routine business during normal business hours.

If you need to contact Dr. Garza after office hours, our answering service will help you reach him. Please instruct the answering service that you wish to speak with the doctor and leave your number. The doctor will respond as quickly as possible. Be prepared to accurately describe your problem and list the medicines you are taking.
